Raised in a creative family, Sasanqua Link was exposed to crafts and fine arts at an early age. She first studied at Skidmore College, and then received her MFA in Jewelry and Metalsmithing from the University of Kansas. Following graduate school, Link was the Artist in Residence at the Oregon College of the Arts and Crafts in Portland.

In addition to her studio work, Link has taught fine arts courses at several colleges, and worked as a jeweler, most recently for high-end boutique designers in New York.

Link’s current sculptures focus on the conceptual interrelationship of the body, mechanical devices and the natural world. Constructed from materials that reference the sumptuous physicality of the body and the austere clinical forms of scientific devices, they investigate how the body records its experience.
